Having a baby in UAE requires proper planning. As this requires you to keep yourself ready with medical insurance for mother before you plan for pregnancy.
Once you are pregnant insurance companies will charge you very high premium. So you should plan accordingly. If the medical insurance renewal comes during the pregnancy, insurance company can charge you double the premium you paid previous year.
The medical insurance of mother is valid for first 30 days after the delivery of your newborn.
If your newborn has to be kept in hospital NICU for any reasons and if it cross 30 days, your insurance company will not cover any out layer amount as per DRG code system implemented in UAE.
In this scenario if you are looking for new insurance for your baby, the insurance companies will charge you very very high premium which any normal person cannot afford.
Incase you have a group insurance then it might be helpful that you add your baby under that, soon after the birth.
